My role

My role

Working with clients based out of Raleigh in NC, I helped the OnPulse founder and technical lead to understand the current issues with the existing platform and breakdown their validated painpoints, craft a redesigned interface for the product, and work with the tech lead to push it live to beta testers.

Challenge

Challenge

OnPulse is a health management company, run by a team of dedicated clinicians, health experts, billing and claims specialists and analysts to help patients reduce costs on medical procedures, increase trust with their improve the overal outcome of their medical experience.

They'd already launched an MVP of their existing product and were seeking a design and product consultant to assist with the future of the product.

Some of their goals for the project included decreasing time to complete actions through improved usability, increase trust in the platform with an improved visual design, and higher level of "solved" cases through increased adoption.

Dashboard, summary and open cases

The medical practitoners and admin's dashboard summary shows a high level of the most important information needed to help their patients, including a breakdown on total value given to patients, oustanding cases, and high level details of current cases they're involved with.

In this case, the dashboard was designed to allow practitioners to drill down quickly into more detail once they've gotten an overview of what their day will be like.

Case details

OnPulse's case details section tracks all aspects of a patient's on-going medical consultation. Users can add tasks, discussions, notes or files to a case to track between both the recipient, and others users of OnPulse.

Here, benefits including time saved and time remaining on the case can be tracked easily so both users and pracititioners can understand the benefits OnPulse is helping them with.

High level details are summarised at the top of the page for quick scanning, and new benefits can be added quickly below.

Case discussions

As team members and patients can communicate with eachother, we needed to faciliate easy communications on multiple topics with ease. Taking inspiration from multithreaded forums and chat software, we came up with a way to allow users to respond to individual discussions, create new ones, or reply to the root discussion, with the ability to upload details to each message.

User profile details

Both practitioners and users can amend their profile to OnPulse, used to build trust and ensure clear communications between parties.

We took care to design this page to chunk details into related sections and give helpful inline error validation prompts (to ensure they were filled out completely).
